      I would be honored to serve on the PPAC. As an active inventor since 2005, I believe that patents are an absolute critical component to keeping America competitive in the global market. As a small business owner and inventor, I would not have been able to solicit outside investment or technology development partnerships without the value of having intellectual property as a form of collateral to protect investments in inventions and product development.

      Professional Background

       

      Inventor/Patent background:

      Fitistics, LLC and iScan2D Technologies, LLC (2006 to Present)

       

      As a co-founder, Fitistics LLC was a pioneer in the ‘Connected Gym’ market having developed the first solution that allowed ubiquitous connectivity with portable content devices and exercise equipment. After two years of intense product development, I negotiated a product and patent license agreement with Star Trac Fitness (now Core Health & Fitness). The Fitistics technology was integrated directly into all major lines of Star Trac commercial cardio exercise equipment. Fitistics currently has an active patent portfolio with two issued U.S. patents to date (8,118,709 and 8,915,823) with another four applications pending.       As the founding member of iScan2D Technologies, LLC, developed an optical method to capturing data from a variety of health and fitness devices (exercise equipment, blood glucose meters, health kiosks). Formed a strategic partnership with a California based partner company (www.myeinc.com) to commercialize various inventions that benefit from the original iScan2D patent filing from 2011.

      • Licensed rights to two exercise equipment companies in 2011/2012 under the now issued U.S. patent 9,367,860
      • Developed prototype ‘GlucoScan’ hardware device to capture blood glucose readings from existing meters such as J&J’s LifeScan brand
      • Conceptualized and developed a ‘smart gym’ concept which opened in California in 2018. The gym deployed all of the patented technology covered under the iScan2D patents 9,367,860 and 10,322,313.
      • Developed a new health kiosk set to launch in September 2020 (https://bodyscript.com/) which has a patent marking under the iScan2D ‘313 patent

      Industry Background:

       

      R&D Engineer, Eastern Plastics (IDEX Health and Science Div. (2000 to 2006). Developed TWO new proprietary thermal bonding process allowing EPI to offer customers multi-layer fused manifolds made from materials that were previously not able to be bonded using current industry-standard bonding techniques.       Business Unit Manager, Laminated Manifold Technology Dept.KIP Fluid Controls Inc, Division of Norgren/IMI USA (2006 to 2008). Recruited by Norgren to spearhead the creation of a new internal business unit that would allow Norgren to gain key competitive advantages by offering complete vertically integrated fluidic sub-assembly systems to the medical diagnostic and healthcare markets.

       

      Support Equipment Business Development Manager at Bauer, Inc (January 2013 to January 2016). Member of the Bauer Leadership team and responsible for all business development, product development & marketing initiatives for Bauer Support Equipment Products and Engineering Services. Key account manager for major industry OEM’s and airlines such as Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Meggitt, KLM, Goodrich, Robins Air Force Base and other military facilities.

       

      Eastern Region Sales/Key Account Manager at Diba Industries, Inc., a HALMA company (January 2016 to April 2020). Responsible for all of the business development and account management activities in the assigned territory, as well as assigned key accounts globally including Dublin and Singapore (leading IVD and Genomics OEMs). Develop and implement agreed upon Sales and Marketing Plan in order to meet personal and business goals for expanding customer base in the territory and key accounts.
